Today’s exercise allows us to take our focus on the breath a step farther, today we will focus on rhythmic breath meditation.
Today, we will turn our breath into music, by counting the inhale, hold and exhale beats.
Find yourself in a comfortable position and close your eyes.
Yesterday, we followed the natural breath without altering it. Today, we will count.
As you inhale count 4 beats, inhale 1-2-3-4
Next hold the breath for the same for count 1-2-3-4
Exhale, using the same 4 count 1-2-3-4
Hold the exhale for 4 beats, 1-2-3-4
Slowly continue this exercise, counting your inhale, Hold, exhale hold.
By counting the breath, we should have less room for thoughts to enter.
Continue this exercise for twenty minutes and continue practicing daily.

intoyour daily life, which will help you navigate the chaos and stress of your day. If you are feeling overtaken by the chaos of life, try concentrating on your breath. Be sure your breath is deep,and reaches the belly.
How do you feel? Was this easier or more difficult than just following the natural breath? Did you struggle to keep thoughts from entering your mind? Did the counting help keep you focused on the breath?
If thoughts enter your mind, just acknowledge them and let them go, do not latch onto them or pull on them, as they will take you into the rabbit hole of the mind, simply relax and continue to count your breath.
