Sonic Tonic: Sound Journey-the spirit of Creation

Sika is an independent musician pioneering sound journey experiences internationally. As I enjoy creating sound journeys myself, I am a big fan of his work. His work reflects a lifetime of listening to the rhythms of nature, and he incorporates these natural sounds into his work. His beautiful, ancient instruments enable people to enter profound states of relaxation. Sika’s beloved collection of instruments includes didjeridoo, drums, native flutes, rattles and Taonga Puoro. I discovered Sika while fascinated by the sound of the didjeridoo and went in search of all new age didgieridoo music I could find. I am not sure what it is about this hypnotyzing instrument, but it summons me.

My son and I purchased one recently and we are currently in the process of learning to play. This requires a circular breathing technique that requires some skill mastery, but is likely familiar to brass and woodwind players. When you listen to Sika play this fascinating instrument, it sounds so simple and easy to do, I assure you it is not. I hope you enjoy the unique sound of this instrument as much as I do.

This album is excellent for everyone’s collection. Each track has a special place in my heart. The music is appropriate for meditation, yoga, and dance.
